It looks like it is still around. Owned by Dehavilland Aircraft Leasing Co Inc, Lima, OH. It was involved in a crash in the 70's in Albany, NY. Anyone near Lima, OH that knows anything about it?

Chris,

I am an A&P and moved to the near Lima area back in 1978. I don't recall ever having heard of a Dove out of Lima and I probably would have made note of it if I had as my previous job was with another operator in Central Ohio that did have a Riley Dove, N673R.

I went in search of that ship awhile back and found pics of it in a boneyard down in AUS.

I would speculate that the aircraft was never rebuilt after the crash in '76. The leasing company may have bought it for parts. When the FAA starting purging the registration database of old derelict aircraft that were no longer flying by requiring all aircraft to be re-registered, this one was one of those purged. The reason for de-registration is listed as 'expired.'

The registration database was a mess before they instituted the new policy. There were many aircraft that were in boneyards or that had been scrapped that were still registered.
