ebay poster states this P-38 belonged to the 39th fighter squadron. Nothing else to go on. Great looking scheme though. Edit: After searching a bit it looks to have been a 39th FS P-38H belonging to Lt. Col Thomas J. Lynch. If I have my facts correct, here's some history on T. Lynch. Sad loss.

... and another P-38 I posted a while back stating it was with the 35th FG with sharks mouths and checkerboard tails.

Both great looking schemes. We need more P-38's restored.

That flight sim illustration looks as if he used the J/L radiator fronts rather than the H models. Other than that it looks good.

Tommy Lynch grew up in Catasaqua PA, near where I grew up. A new bridge across the Lehigh River is being named in his honor. Truly a great aviator and a great loss
