I have never collected anything I didn't intend to fly but currently need to focus on creating a successful sustainable business with Fantasy of Flight before we dig into the Lancaster. One day I will have the gut-wrenching decision to face as to which aircraft I should choose to be my next four-engine aircraft project and having to decide between either a B-17, a B-24, a Sunderland, or a B-29 before the Lancaster becomes a priority! I realize that is a cross not many have the opportunity to bear but such are the burdens I find myself having to endure. frown emoticon

Disappointing to see his Spirit of St. Louis replica sitting disassembled in the background. They put a bunch of work into it last year bringing it up to a more accurate standard, took it to France for display...and now?

I believe it was damaged on the way there to France. Not sure if it incurred anymore damage on the return trip. Or vice versa.

Yes, I read the shipping company was responsible for the damage. I would think they would have paid for the repairs...

So friggin' frustrating ... can never seem to understand how FB works. Man, this rags on me: could somebody please try to explain to doofus here why all he sees are pics of engines, Kermit the french, and everything else in the world except for what y'all are talking about?! I tried last night and again just now with the same result. Tried clicking on Photos, even, and just got more of same... :P

Thanks.

What is the condition of the fuselage of this Lancaster? I have heard that Hurricane Andrew put a beam through the fuselage, essentially severing the forward from the rear portion. Does anyone have more information on this, or some pictures?

Th a/c was damaged while undergoing resto work in the 1980's, before Kermit bought it...
