Ours is being done to airworthy standards so there is a slight possibility if the funding is there down the road she may take to the skies. Worst case she'll be able to taxi.

Have you guys consulted Glyn about this??- IIRC he built this, the first fuselage, to test the moulds and not to air worthy condition.

That was always the impression I got from Glyn in any interview where this first fuselage was mentioned, it seems strange if no-one has talked with him about flying it. A great project for sure, but this aspect strikes me as very strange.

I am not aware if Glen has been spoken to or not. All I know is that there is paperwork saying that all of the work was done with airworthy quality material to proper specs. I believe the plan is to be a B.XX, but I'll look into that and confirm.

A couple more photos, the guys did a test fit of the horizontal stabilizer on Tuesday. It's starting to look more and more like a plane!

Somehow, some way, I've totally missed this thread until just now. Needless to say I'm blown away -- WOW!! Can't thank you enough for the updates, Ryan, and all of a sudden I fervently hope you keep 'em coming. Woodworking makes up 90% of my DNA (and warbirds the other 10% lol), this thing has my poor old ticker skipping beats all over the place haha!

Was this fuselage displayed at the entrance to a Thunder Over Michigan air show in maybe 2005 or '07? I remember seeing one that was there and money was being collected for its restoration. That was one or two 'puters ago (back those pictures up on another hard drive, kids... ) and I don't think I have pictures available anymore.

Hi guys! Long time since an update so I figured I'd post a few photos since I'm in town for a few days!

Things are still progressing steadily, the horizontal stabilizer has been completed and the guys have made the main sections of the vertical stab. They test fitted everything on the fueslage this week and it couldn't have gone better, everything matched up perfectly. Now that the finishing touches are done on the stab spars, the ribs (which are already made) can be installed, then the skins. The tail wheel assembly was also overhauled and attached to the fueslage. The guys are still hard at work on the main gear and flap controls, they're coming along nicely as well! A few repairs had to be made to the main wing to get it up airworthy specs, thats almost completed. Once that's done they'll be ready to start the massive job of covering the fueslage, wing, stabs, etc. with its fabric outter layer. Here are a few photos for now, I'll try to post some more before I head back to the great white north!
