We've become so enamored with digital, folks forget how good Kodachrome was. I have an extensive collection of Kodachrome stereos from the 1940s-60s. If reasonably stored, Kodachrome exhibits bright, vibrant colors. Compared to modern Fuji Provia transparencies, Kodachrome exhibits warmer colors. It does tend to give images a subtle "vintage" look. Scanning Kodachrome can be tricky, particularly if the originals are under exposed. No manipulating RAW files to cover exposure mistakes with film.

Love all these photos. Thanks for posting.

Rob,

I believe that's Air Group 89 off of the Antietam.

I was stationed on Guam 72-75 with VQ-1, use to watch the 52's in the distance flying out on their missions from our hanger, we use to take our old rusted cars out to North Field and make high speed runs on one of the runways, the rest of the field was overgrown with vegetation, we were told not to go exploring the old sites as wild boars roamed the area, I remember the AF had a beautiful beach just off North Field that we would visit often, lots of round eye women there

At the risk of a minor thread jack, does anyone know a good place online to find the markings for the various CAGs?

There is a picture floating around somewhere that shows a series of fighter aircraft 'tails' with the various markings from each CAG. I thought I had it on file but I'm unable to locate it at the moment.
