Whoa! That was an unexpected purchase. Cool. I remember seeing her in 1998 when I was out there. Great to see her coming back to life.

One slight error in the video. It says the plane was Gen. George MacArthur airplane. Shouldn't that be Douglas MacArthur?

The airplane is not "known as Batann" either.

Great to see so much progress! I'm very much looking forward to seeing this Connie fly. Love them Connies!

The interior seems to be very authentic. The "radio nerd" in me really appreciated the gratuitous shots of that beautiful Hammarlund SP-600 HF radio receiver in the passenger cabin... 8) geek

Another Connie airworthy is always good.

One minor question....

How are they going to fly it out? I was under the impression that the runway at Valle was shortened after the airplane was originally brought in. 4200' seems pretty short at 6000' elevation.

Was that the one at Ft. Rucker? I remember seeing one there during flight school(1970).I am pretty sure they had a sign on it saying "Bataan". Time to go find the pictures.

I noticed both issues and found it odd since the LFL crew usually does a pretty good job on the production of the videos and website. Two major glaring errors is kinda odd.

Light fuel load, cold day, shouldn't be a problem. I saw it earlier this month. I'm glad there will be another Connie with air under the wings...

There's also a much longer runway that isn't in use but could probably be made available for a one time use (FAA does it on a fairly regular basis actually).

Awesome!! Seems like a pretty good deal for PoF as well - they get to sell the plane then get paid to restore her as well. Question - why not fly it to Texas for the restoration work? This will be really cool to see flying!
