The aluminum is in very good condition, after we cleaned up the oxidization.

Thank you for the photos of the nose section. I have heard about the presentation and the little-known B-24 discovery.

The nose section is missing the bottom assembly including the side longerons. At the aft end of the section, the bombay track channels are visible, but the inside bulkhead panels of Station 4.0 are missing. The truss bulkhead of Station 4.1 is where the nose section ends of the assembly process. Consolidated eventually assembled the nose sections same as Ford. The section overall is a very good candidate for restoration or conservation for the owner.

Article of the revised Consolidated nose assembly process with photos.

In the 1990s in Leesburg, VA there was a hot dog stand made from a section of B-24 fuselage, I wonder what ever happened to it.

Here's a thought...
Why not get YAM on board to engineer a swap using KK237 and '11130' (B-24L 44-50154/RAF Liberator B.VIII KN820/IAF HE773) at Rockcliffe?

Canada Aviation & Space Museum would get an actual RCAF Liberator, and YAM would get an authentic Ford-built B-24L that would be free from NMUSAF restrictions on making her airworthy.

Seems like a no-brainer, but it makes too much sense to actually work out. ;-)

I brought up this same idea a while ago using B-24D/Liberator GR.V 586 'A' (the one in Labrador), but it seemed too far-fetched I guess.

YAM should sweeten this deal with the Caribou prototype they have too.
