I heard someone tell their kid that an L-39 was a MiG-23. That made my day!
First post here, been following for a while, but some of these are good and I had to add my two cents.
I heard one kid say the difference between the Lightning and Lightning II was the STOVL variant and the normal variant. Another TSA agent said the cables inside the DC-3 meant this plane was fly by wire. lol

Remembering a few other misquotes from airshows past; A guy asked me once "Is that a P-49 bomber?" I said "close, its a B-17 bomber" Heard a story once where a P-51 owner was asked at an airshow if his airplane was a P-82. He said "Yepp, couldn't afford the gas, left the other half at home!"
