We have somewhat been trying to locate it. Hopefully this summer we can put more focus on locating it.

Last I heard, there was a group searching for "her", along with ( rumored) C-47 that went down in the same area.

way back about 37 years ago in college, one of my classmates showed me a picture of him sitting in a WWII fighter in one of the great lakes. He was in the Cleveland Diving Club.

As of now, not that I've heard. I haven't been able to commit as much time as hoped in the search for the Corsair. Still trying to do some more searching by the end of September or October.

are you towing a magnatometer too? my side scan was good, my hummingbird was best for resolution by lacked the depth, but a magnatometer I think is a major asset...

Not using a magnetometer. In that area of Lake Erie the depth is average of 20 ft. Humminbird works just fine plus I have/use 2 underwater infrared cameras with 60ft. cable.

i cant believe u guys that are local are not out on that lake every sunny day lookn for this corsair! i would be for sure-wish we had some fresh water local ditchings ! i would be all over this!!!

Well unfortunately there's this little thing called "life" that makes it sometimes difficult to spend as much time as wanted searching for the plane. Lake Erie is pretty good size.

are the approximate ditching locations recorded? has anybody spoke with the other members of his flight group or the pby rescuers? 20' of water is a piece of cake!
