This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Gremlins? I go to MUFON alot, almost as much as I haunt WIX. I saw two orbs last year, but I was already a believer. Still, it was W E I R D! I am case #56662. Anyway, I glanced at this just now in the "latest 20 UFO reports":
"An event held on May 25 at the Santa Margarita featured a B-25 Mitchell bomber, which offered rides to the public from the private strip on the ranch.
While working in my front yard I saw the B-25 flying just above the oak trees heading north before making a turn towars the south and proceeding on to the runway for landing.
As the plane passed me I took my Samsung Galaxy phone and began taking a few pictures.
As I did I saw something streak past the plane heading west as the plane headed north. I quickly lost sight of the object as my attention was focused on the plane.
When I looked at my pictures I saw that the object was captured in one of the photos.
I can not identify the object and I am forwarding this report to you for your files."

A warbird pilot at a show in Central , CA told me he saw a black and a red shiney orb both flying formation off his wing. He maneuvered a bit and they hung with him and moved along. He asked the airboss if anything was up. Airboss checked and said no.

Probably, a bundle of mylar balloons.
Really, this is a fun subject but some of the UFO guys take it waaaaay too seriously and start name calling if you disagree...so I won't.

Probably some aliens (the outer space kind, not the illegal kind) looking to anal probe someone.

The true believers (along with bigfoot and Loch Ness Monster folks) will have to eventually explain why in these days of everyone having a cell phone with still/video why no one has good shot of a UFO.
Probable excuses:
My dog ate my cell phone
Their dog ate my cell phone
Bush/Obama, Hillary Clinton and/or the IRS/CIA/NSA erased my cell phone
Scotty stole it while I was changing into a Star Fleet uniform
Enjoying the anal probe too much to take a photo.
And the number one excuse for not having photos....
Uranus is out of my network.

Do today's warbird pilots see the Foo Fighters and St Elmos Fire that used to be seen by crews in the same types of aircraft during WWII?

Dunno. Lets get every flyable B-17 in a box formation at Angels 30, loaded with bored/terrified young men and fly cross country flights until we see something.

St Elmos fire obviously would not be dependent on ac type. IIRC, Ernest Gann wrote about it on DC-3 props.
