Displayed Hueys: Wikipedia List Help

We have some Huey listed in our Helo Registry at

It's somewhat out of date though. It will be updated when I find some free time or get laid off

They aren't approved for lift operations. There's a few at Tehachapi & Bakersfield apparently. Maybe also Mojave.

They must have been at one time. Somebody did the conversions and I'd suspect someone in the FAA signed off on the Form 337s.
Wonder why the change of heart?
A single pilot aircraft doing restricted work, doesn't seem that critical for a ban unless there is a very imminent danger....almost sounds more like another case of the Forest Service protecting itself at operators expense.

Huh? I have 76-22592 listed as "on display at the RAN Fleet Air Arm Museum in Nowra, New South Wales". Did it move from that location?

Wait a minute, the Aerial Visuals page I used as a reference has 76-22592 on display at two different locations on the same date. Hmm...

The news story you cited mentions that "[they] have returned home". Was one or both of them previously on display at the RANFAAM? Also, would you happen to have something on HARS's website that mentions either of them specifically by serial number? (I don't see them listed under the "Aircraft" section.) It would be even more useful as a reference. (Very nice website, by the way!)

According to the caption on this photo and this photo, as well as the relevant AviationMuseum.eu page it does seem you are correct.

Finally, I appreciate the correction, as information on the Internet is all too often mistaken. :roll:

I'll bet I saw nearly 20 UH-1Hs on display at a number of outdoor locations in what was South Vietnam. In addition I saw 5 flyable ones on a ramp at Tan Son Nhat. Besides the Hueys I saw Ch-47As, F-5As,
A-1Es, a C-130, A-37s and more. They ALL had U.S. markings(usually inaccurate) rather than the old VNAF and in most cases were freshly repainted. I was told that they were painted in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the fall of Saigon. One Huey even had the emblem for my old outfit the 101st
on the tail.

I went looking for mention of the helicopter on the museum's website - which I found - but man is it painful to read.

Been wondering about tail numbers, my h mod was 67-15430 and have seen on this list 67-16*** and 67-17*** what does the 15 16 17 mean time of year of built? Or something else. Ths.

At that time, Army serials were issued sequentially, starting at 15000 each year.
So the higher numbers were generally ordered/built later.

No, it wasn't flown in. One of the photo captions says:

"Huey as it arrived in Blue Ridge, transported from Florida on a flatbed truck—November 2014"
