I missed this when you originally posted it. Having spent many hours with a good fried who was a Helldiver, Corsair and Panther Pilot I can really appreciate these great shots. Thanks as always for posting such great photo sets.

Great subject and updates!

I have never been able to find out about the wing fold on the Panther. Why did it stop short of the vertical? Seems every other fighter wing folds past vertical or at least vertical for storage. You could cram more planes together if the wings folded more. Was it too tall for the hanger deck, so they had to keep it short of vertical? Even the Banshee with a greater span, and looking taller when folded, was past vertical.
