"Bacon Super Six" UPDATE:

N66J still sitting in open tie-down at Whiteman (google earth 2014) appears intact except top two rudder hinges detached

N66J registration cancelled/expired 10/29/2013, was still registered to Bill and Betsy Leasure

4-2-2015 Bill Leasure parole denied again (incarcerated since 1991, sentence 15 to life on two murder counts)

And then there's the Super Six on barnstormers that's been there for awhile. I think it actually looks pretty sweet!!

I remember seeing this one in a book years ago. I would like to know what the mods are - the only things which make it anything like a Wirraway (to me at least) are that it has a three-blade prop and kangaroos in the roundels. Otherwise it looks like a T-6/Harvard/SNJ (I don't know the differences) with a new cowl?

I concur. R-1340G installed with 3-bladed prop, modified cowling and pseudo-RAN paint job. She started life as RCAF Harvard Mk 4 20228.

ISTR seeing a "T-6 Zero", I think here on WIX but I can't find it, that had been modified with a taller landing gear (not just struts jacked up, but a new gear) and I think an R-1830 and maybe some other mods that were supposed to make it more like a Zero.

I have also always wondered why someone hasn't put a PT6 on one, just for fun. ISTR there were a couple of turbo-T-6s proposals in foreign countries but the didn't happen. I'm going to make a model of a PT6 powered T-6, but that is all the money I plan to spend!
