B-25 Lucky Lady 44-31508 update and offer

G'day all

as we (Reevers) are the new owners of this B-25 we have been doing a lot of research on costs of dismantling and freighting the aircraft to Australia.
Other projects here in Australia have also kept us busy but we are now focussing on the immediate future of the B-25. We've had a number of quotes
and feedback from some very genuine people and at this stage we have decided to break the task into two phases.

First in the dismantling and crating ready for container and shipment, and the second is the pick up and freight to Australia. Before we finalise any agreement
we thought we should make an offer to any other interested warbird museums located in or near Franklin Virginia, to do the dismantling and crating of the aircraft
ready for pick up - Phase one. Its not that we don't want to support local businesses, but figured there could be an interested group who could do with the
additional funds injected into their accounts. We understand times are tough for a lot of people and this is just an idea we feel we should put out there to the
warbird community and if another warbird restoration can benefit from this well good, if not, at least we've asked.

So if you are a member of, or know of a warbird group who could benefit from the experience and the cash we'd be happy to discuss the details, you can drop us a
line on reevers@bigpond.com to discuss further. We'll give this a time frame of end of March for any expressions and if none received we'll then proceed with
selecting one of the quotes we have.

its been pointed out to me that some people who are interested may have trouble sourcing the right equipment to remove / lower and position sections.

I'm sure and we would be happy if a share of costs arrangement was made with the owner of the hangar for use of heavier equipment. I can supply contact details if needed and this could be a win win situation for both an historical group and a local business.

B-25 Update

Many thanks to those who dropped us a line and provided either advice and or encouragement on this project.

A decision has now been made and an agreement reached with an interested group to have the B-25 disassembled and readied for shipment to Australia.
Of course pictures will be taken and supplied. This has been a win for both parties as two Warbirds will benefit from this exercise. Its an exciting time for Reevers
as a number of our proposed projects or acquisitions are finally coming to fruition. Time, negotiations and of course government red tape are just the obvious
hurdles that need to be navigated, but in the end Australia will have a second B-25 on display, this one will be located in the Southern states.

I hope you have contacted Aerotrader at chino and run this passed them.It wont be cheap but they know what they are doing on 25s.Be careful having someone with lots of enthusiasim and minimal experience taking apart an airplane without wrecking it.I do hope you have sprayed the living daylights out of all the bolts and screws on your new bird.It sure needs it.

From what I'm told its not underway just yet. The plane has been sitting in the hangar with one prop/engine removed. The plan is to start the disassembly the week of April 20th, I've made arrangements to be in Franklin that week to assist with the project.

Thanks Cooper9411 for clarifying that and yes Chris you read correctly, Reevers will release pics of the P-43 project it has, little teasy ones but gradually building up
to a full examination of what is available, perhaps viable and what the future may hold.

Hi Peter, it sounds like the Reevers team has some great stuff lined up and it's very exciting to see what's coming...but slightly frustrating to be on the wrong side of the ditch!

One question - what is Reevers?

yep, pretty busy period but its very enjoyable.

Reevers is a twist on a Scottish word for raiders. When the Romans invaded England, they did not dare go north because of the Rievers (raiders).

Of course raiders to the Romans were anyone who opposed them. The Scottish clans who did resist generally raided for high value goods i.e. food in the form of animals, grains or
construction goods like timbers and masonry. Taking these items from the Romans made advance North difficult and in the end the Romans built a dividing wall and forgot about
trying to convert the savages on the other side.

Reevers is shortened for Reevers Pastoral as we have an interest in what we call 'reverse AI' or reverse artificial insemination for livestock but thats another story. Reevers can also
be partnered with aircraft i.e. raider

Howdy Peter ! Two Questions, I've heard different takes on what was ( if anything) taken off / missing from the B-25 that went to an/other B-25 restoration/s , and second, WOW ! That Avatar is Cool ! But where's if from ? Just had to ask, I guess I missed that one growing up ! But Really, Thank You for taking time out to give us all of your time & info ! Best of Luck !
