Sorry couldn't think of a better title for these guys ... Lots of stuff being loaded, unloaded, transported packed and unpacked. Just think of how many ships were sunk in the North Atlantic with cargo such as what you see in some of these photos.

Thank you very much Mark, I always enjoy your picture posts. I often wonder, with all the cargo ships that were sunk during the war with aircraft, and these ships were located, how much of the planes/parts could actually be salvageable being that they were wrapped in plastic?

But pictures 1 and 3 cleary say beware of propellers?

Probably not spray plastic Mark, a bit early for spraylat...more likely cosmoline. Note the buckets around the P-51's in the above photo which contain solvent(often gasoline) and rags for scrubbing off the oily/waxy black gunk. The panels, seamlines, and canopy etc. were taped off. Large stuff, like canopies, cowlings, etc. I think were covered in a rubberized or oil cloth or paper...taped down..and then sprayed over with the cosmoline with the rest of the aircraft.
