$189 is still way too pricey. Plus its kind of a soft replica, the movie version has a lot more character in my opinion.

From what I've red, the 'Toby' mug used in the film was made specially for the movie itself. as far as I know, it's whereabouts are a mystery today.

Wow, that sure does look like the inspiration.
I've never read the book (but I'd like to someday), I wonder if the mug is mentioned in the book and maybe it mentioned a specific type?

When I was at Sandhurst in the mid 70s they used to show two films, after which the officer cadets would discuss the leadership aspects of the films with the instructors. One of those films was 12 O'Clock High and the other was Bridge on The River Kwai.
I can't remember the film really, but wasn't it about Gregory Peck coming in to shake up a bomber squadron with really low morale.....hence the training significance for Officer cadets.

Yes. I had to "sit thru" the movie numerous times for the Leadership and Mgt classes I went to.
