Hi Jim:
I met you in person at Morgantown W.V. back in August right before I flew on the B-24. I agree with everyone here Jim that your postings of your flying adventures is just great. And the GoPro camera you use is fantastic. You probably have answered this question before, but what is the Model of GoPro that you have been using?
It looks like you are still in Florida if so is there any chance you would be able to show some pictures of Collings TF-51 that is being restored? Do you think it will fly in 2015, and is there any talk that this aircraft will join the Collings Tour? Enjoy your vacation Jim, and once again it was a real pleasure meeting you in person.

You bet! I remember you Ed! I use a Hero 2 and 3...mostly which ever one is charged. I really like the 3 better but the quality of the 2 is still outstanding. Someday I will get the filter that straightens out the prop. The photos in the previous post are of the TF...it is covered in the blue protective film. The fuselage is progressing nicely and the wings are being done by another vendor. The plan is to have it ready by summer, then join the Wings of Freedom Tour in 2016

Not much really...sleeping, lots of sleeping. Family, seeing my mom. Flying the Cub. I dug out a couple guitars to fool with and bought some art supplies. It's impossible to have a hobby while on the road. I've tried. I'm editing some of the GoPro footage, which is taking forever, so much to sift through. Good stuff though. Also trying to shed tour fat...eating healthier and staying far away from fast food.

Be interesting to hear your thoughts on Cub flying after spending so much time horsing the big stuff around...

lol...what's it like to fly the Cub after flying the Tour? magical. The Cub is a delight. no radio, no starter...just get in and go, have fun. I have yet to fly it in the summer but so far it's not too bad in the winter. I love flying it no matter what the conditions are. I did my CFI renewal in Buffalo with Pete T in his Champ...another great little airplane from the same era. There is something really special about Cubs, Champs, Luscombes, Taylorcrafts...it was a really special time in aviation.

This video really captures the pure essence and beauty of flight in a Champ on a perfect summer evening.
In this case being experienced by a young girl flying with her dad for the first time.

Ryan Keough and I have started off the 2015 season with a road trip to Florida. The Wings of Freedom Tour kicks off this coming Friday and we are on our way to our annual Groundschool. We stopped at Udvar Hazy and the Military Aviation Museum. I gotta say, Yagen has truly done it right, we were both amazed at the amount of investment that has been lavished on this facility. The new Flugwerk 190 showed up a day before our arrival and thanks to Liza and Mike Potter we were allowed access to the Fighter Factory hangar, which is normally closed on weekends, to have a look at the latest aquisition. Great people for sure.

Jim, seeing those FF pics gives me a slight twinge! Nice to see those aircraft, many of which I spent time working on. BTW, didn't see 'my' Wildcat in your pics, was it not around?

Just checked your tour schedule and looks like ya'll will be in Dallas in March on my birthday, might have to try to get up there. Is San Antonio on the schedule? I know Uvalde wouldn't be..

We aren't doing San Antonio but we are doing Fredericksburg...come on out, and Dallas, keep your eye on our schedule.
