WWII ROLLS ROYCE MERLIN V-12 ENGINE FOR SALE

Our family is selling our last WWII Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 Aircraft engine which belonged to our late Father (formerly a WWII 8th Air Force Flight Engineer and Mechanic) who, for decades, collected vintage aircraft parts. (There are no other parts offered at this time). It would be ideal for use, after rebuilding, as a primary or back-up engine.

We have been advised that likely fewer then 300 Merlin engines remain, worldwide, that are not presently fitted to aircraft. We have not seen another Merlin advertised for sale in the past year, anywhere in the world. We know of no others presently for sale, anywhere.

This specific engine type was fitted to WWII Allied Fighter aircraft, such as the Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane and the Fairy Battle.

The Rolls-Royce Merlin MKII is a British liquid-cooled, V-12, piston aircraft engine, of 27-litre (1,650 cu in) capacity. It is rated at 1,030 horsepower, stock.

The engine has been bore-scoped and rated as "good condition" on the receipt we have. It is mounted on an original wooden military stand and comes with it's history and paperwork. It is serial number 1329.

This engine has been in secure, heated, indoor storage since 2004 and has not been touched in that time. This engine has never been stored outdoors. The condition is "good, used". The serial number 1329 is stamped on the crankcase and this matches the reduction gear case serial of 1329 which has a plate showing Merlin MK II designation.

British Air Ministry No. A117840 is stamped on the crankcase. This engine was built 13 December 1937, tested 18 December 1937 and despatched to No.4 MU Ruislip on 22 December 1937. A117840 was part of an order under contract 547803/36 for 2854 Merlin engines. Merlin II production covers engine serials 407 to 2905

We have been advised that likely fewer then 300 Merlin engines remain, worldwide, that are not presently fitted to aircraft.

Engine is being sold "As-Is" and "Where Is". Near offers will be considered on an as-come basis.

Asking $32,500. USD (or best offer)

We would only like to hear, ONLY, from serious, capable Buyers who understand what is for sale and have the ability to pay, pick up and ship PLEASE.

We are able to provide full bank references to the Buyer.

Please email your interest and we will reply asap.

We will be pleased to email PHOTOS to you when WITH our REPLY to you.

Thank you very much
