Russell Regional Airport in Rome, Georgia for the Wine and Jazz Festival this Friday. Lewis said they were towing the plane 77 miles on its original landing gear..a world records she believes.

However police were not impressed. The advised against the nighttime towing and it was parked overnight at Abba's House.

Lewis hoped to continue the tow job to Rome Thursday, most likely with an escort.

I was thinking the same exact thing... I 100% for sure know the B does not, but maybe later variants like the D did.

T-28's (airworthy) did not have folding wings unless there was a structural failure in progress

Sure would like more info, like the "N" number. Could it be one of the T-28 Trojan/Fennec conversions by the French?
I think they flew them off carriers and maybe had folding wingtips? Found one site with a line drawing from above and seemed to have a hinge line.
Need more info, B.U. Number or something. EDIT Found thru Tripadvisor report on the Hixson Museum Of Flight in Hixson Tenn. it had some Reviewers photos and it had a T-28 with folding wingtips. They have a "A" and "B" model T-28 that can fly, but looks like the other one with a Buzz number of 752 maybe can't and may be the one being towed.

As t28mike said, no T-28's, A,B,C,D or Fennecs had folding wings. The outer wing panels were bolted on ,thus the seam on the wings

It's a B model.

The museum has two T-28's both with tail codes of SE and they are marked as aircraft 750 (B model) and 751 (A model). Both are airworthy, but the way the wingtip is sitting there, it looks like there is a hydraulic cylinder between the main wing and the tip. I can not believe though that they would be transporting it with the tips just sitting there like that.

There is a possibility this could be a third T-28 they have that is to be marked 752. This T-28 according to their website will be for static display only, so they might have modified it to have folding wing tips to be able to transport it. But I think that is pretty unlikely to have occurred.

I looked all over their site but only saw mention of 752, but nothing saying it was ready for display. I'm really shocked by this museum. They are only a few years old, but have a pretty decent collection going.
