Looking to hire a master model builder ...

If anyone is interested but not following along on the build thread, the first one is done. I got the Hellcat finished up last weekend and the Avenger will be done in a few days. After looking at the pictures I decided I need to dirty up the panel lines a bit again before I ship it out to Mark.

Incredible work Greg. Dad would have been so happy to see this. Kick myself in the *ss for not thinking of doing this a few years ago while he was still with us. Your craftsmanship will be very proudly displayed onboard the USS Hornet.

I got the Helldiver finished up early last week.

I should have them boxed up and on their way west by the end of the week. I want to thank Mark and Tim H for allowing me to be part of such a cool project! Hopefully one or both of them will post some pictures of the whole exhibit here once it opens.

Best I be clearer with this statement. I don't mean Greg should take a week to complete. He will complete each model when he completes them, no hurry at all as he has a life to live as well. When he's done, it will be done.

Here's the idea for planes and schemes:

VF-11 Hellcat (Solid Navy Blue)

VB-11 Helldiver (Three tone scheme)

VT-11 Avenger (Three tone scheme)

CAG-11 USS Hornet

Nice pictures here, in the first one, the deck hand walking by in the back ground must be related to Jack Cook...

For anybody still following along, we're now going to do a Wildcat, Avenger and Dauntless representing CVG-11's time on Guadalcanal. I'll be starting on the next round in the next week.
