We are making great progress on the 109, the Allison fits very well and is very similar to the DB 605. We are able to put the stock 109 cowl around the Allison and give it the look that everyone wants see. The thrust line between the DB and the Merlin are drastically different and the Merlin can not be lowered that far down but the Allison can. The Allison fits in all dimensions and it fits in the same spot as the DB 605, and yes we can run the exhaust out the stock 109 spot as well as put the carb air scoop out the left side. We are replicating a BF 109G-10. It will have the taller vertical, Erla canopy, and cowling bulges. We have already started on all of that as well as addressing the very screwed up tail as a hole. Most of you know that Buchons where built with LH rotating engines in the begging and they never addressed the tail when the Merlin's where installed. We are addressing that issue as well as all the ether ones that have arose. We are restoring it to be authentic as far as paint colors and so on. The cockpit is very close to the original so the pilot still gets the look and feel when they are out chasing down Mustangs! The goal is a good safe flying airplane that when on the ramp at your local Airshow looks identical to a BF 109G-10.

Nah, you've got that backwards....a Merlin in a box is FASTER than an Allison in a Mustang. (Per Ralph Payne and Dave Z)
