R-2800-75 questions and information please

So, an interesting thing happened today...
A friend of a friend 'found' an R-2800 in a barn near me.
Based on the plate- it looks to have been built by Ford.
I'll post a few photos a bit later, but for now I'd like to ask a few questions.

• What birds generally used the -75 version?
• Under the model number another stamp says "75M3", and in the corner of the plate it says "FAA Spec 5E8".
  What is that stuff all about?
• With no paperwork as yet, what is one of these worth?
• Given the above about paperwork- is it able to ever be airworthy?

Any information you can provide would be very helpful.

Later- once I have more information- I'll post about the birds that are in the same barn.
One of them is in crates, and is supposed to be a Jenny!!!

I found the following information about the R-2800-75 in Graham White's 2001 book: "R-2800 Pratt & Whitney's Dependable Masterpiece":

It is a "B" Series R-2800
8,042 were built, all by the Ford Motor Company
Takeoff Rating is 2000 hp at 2700 rpm
Used mainly in the Curtiss C-46 Commando, specifically the C-46A, C-46D-10, C-46E, C-46F and C-46G

FHC's P-47 has a ford built R-2800 in it.

I am sorry to have not checked back with photos like I said I would.
