Historical Aerial Photos

Fri Aug 08, 2014 8:33 pm

Found a site for historical aerial photos. Here the link http://www.historicaerials.com/. Check out Davis-Monthan in 1958. I apologize if this has been posted before. I've spent hours checking out old air bases.

I use that site frequently to research places to go metal detecting. I'm checking out Davis-Monthan now!

Checking out Davis-Monthan is fascinating. I looked over 1972 hoping to catch a U-2 on the ground since they were flying out of D-M at that time, but can't seem to find one.

On a side note, you can see "celebrity row" pretty well. Go to the 1972 map, find the B-47s parked nose to nose. Look east from the B-47 and you see a row of aircraft (running east to west) starting with a B-29.
