This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

It sounds like the webcams aren't working very well, or at all, with Internet Explorer users. For me, using either Safari or Firefox as my browsers (depending on what device I'm using), I've never had an issue with them all week. I've also heard Google Chrome users are viewing the webcams okay. The airshow cam (

I like seeing what's going on, but they ought to get someone to run the camera that has an idea about how aircraft fly displays. he kept losing the Aeroshell guys every time that did a break maneuver.

This fairly-crappy pic of the Trojan Horsemen (taken during Thursday's WIX picnic) should give you some idea of the special challenges the day held for both aerial displays and picnics.
Thursday afternoon's weather was classic midwest "hit or miss": Thundershower...followed by bright sunshine...downpour...sun...lightning... you get the picture.
HOWEVER...the logistical challenges were overcome, hot food & cold beverages were served, and the huddled (and somewhat soggy masses) of the WIX unwashed celebrated the grand aviation family reunion that is Oshkosh. Our dining entertainment provided courtesy of the aforementioned Horsemen, followed by low passes of classic jets. It couldn't have been much fun flying through the persistently-dropping ceiling, but it made for dramatic viewing from the ground.
Kudos, again, to Dave & Cindi for providing a convenient spot to host. And Jenn B's pulled pork and beef was positively outstanding. Jeremy remained resolutely at the grill, even through the downpours. And for those that could not join us: It wasn't the same without you, and start making plans for 2015!

Yesterday's Warbird show was mostly cancelled due to the weather - not sure if the Thunderbirds ended up going or not. Was very disappointing. The amount of stuff that had already left or was leaving Friday morning makes Saturday and Sunday no longer worth it. When did the Zero leave? It wasn't there Friday. Will post some of pictures and video once I get back home.

Well, glad to hear the lack of news and photos yesterday was due to the poor weather. I was afraid the galaxy had shifted and everyone stayed home to watch "Jane Fonda Day" at Turner Classic Movies!

(And as far as Jane goes...)
I sent one of the following to a good Vietnam-vet friend of mine.
His response was, "Dan...
...the sight of Jane Fonda still angers me, but now I know that even when I am angry...
...I'll feel better in about a minute or so. Thanks for the gift."

We arrived Sunday afternoon and left the following Sunday morning, OSH was fantastic, my comments:
the daily warbird shows were poor compared to the last time I saw OSH in 2006, only one P-51 flying in the Saturday warbird show.
no P-51 or other warbird solo aerobatic demonstration flights - I though Quicksliver was going to do one but not.
I found Danny "I cannot stop talking" Clisham needless endless chatter irrating during the warbird show.
The Corsair - Zero dogflight was magnificent, ran into Warren Pietsch and the Zero in the warbird park the next day and had a wonderful chat with him.
Warbirds in Reviews were fantastic, I find Dan Bowlen as host says the most inappropiate things at times, takes the shine off a great presentation.
The warbird park was great, food was good and reasonably priced, evening airshows great, fireworks great.
I plan on going back in 2016, as a Duxford trip was planned for 2015.
