I met John in 1993 at the Eglin AFB airshow. He was a 'old hand' at aviation photographing and was a great mentor to myself and others over the years. I visited him at his house a few times and was always very friendly and generous with his time and knowledge. I traded slides with him for many years. His enthusiasm for aviation, and warbirds, in particular was immense.
God Bless Him and his family.

Oh no!
I didn't know John personally, just traded a few PMs with him and some comments in various threads now and again... but I felt a kindred connection to the man. My thoughts to his friends and family.
Blue skies and bright stars to you John...
Fade to Black...
