I'll vouch for the Windsock Bar and Grill - good food, friendly locals (at least when I was there) and relatively cheap. One place that I HIGHLY recommend is the Hangar One Steakhouse in Wichita, KS. A bit on the expensive side, but the food is spectacular and the decor is superb. Great place to stop and have a meal!

http://randys-restaurant.net/A good "hole-in-the-wall" type place is Verna's Flight Line Restaurant in Millville, NJ. Located in one of the original base buildings (gun shack if I recall correctly) of Millville Army Airfield, a P-47 transition base, this place is inexpensive, but really good food.
