Something from a local TV station.

The INL is the nuclear research/test site in eastern Idaho...

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) - Thanks to a local historian and archaeologists at the Idaho National Laboratory, a downed World War II bomber has been located in eastern Idaho.

In March, archaeologists pinpointed the location of the B-24J Liberator bomber that crashed in the Acro Desert during a 1944 training mission.

The entire 7-man crew compliment died in the crash.

The rediscovery of the long forgotten crash site began with Marc McDonald, a Pocatello historian and airplane enthusiast.

McDonald told the Post Register that there were rumors about the plane but nobody had ever found anything.

After he conducted some research, he and the INL were able to establish where and when the plane crashed in January 1944.

Interesting! Hopefully the wreck is not on BLM land - they are a challenging group to deal with. There is a crash site near Wendover and the amount of red tape to wade through to just place a small memorial marker is almost enought to make you want to walk away.
