This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

As great looking a scheme as the white over polished with the lightning stripe is, it's a pretty tough sell to not go with the original WWII scheme.
August has the right idea. Just get more daks
Too simple

Please, it would be most kind of you to pass on exactly when the aircraft will depart for it's new home in Hamilton. I would love to be present for this most historic moment.
The museum is pretty active on their Facebook account compared to here, I am sure when they get a better idea they will let us know

We've just finished with Thursday here. Good luck in Canada for today!
And as has been said, it's a great acquisition, and a significant airframe.
But what would the odds be of such a scheme duplication, given the number of C-47 and family that saw action?

What was that you were just posting about fakes James?

Yup! Nothing wrong with paining an aircraft in another's colours. Representing it as the original is wrong. The BBMF are always clear about their aircraft's real history and differentiate that from the tribute schemes they carry. Not an issue.
