Capt Bob Mahoney 38th FS 55th FG after hitting a telephone pole while straffing.

Capt Waggoner & Cundy both aces of the 353rd FG. Waggoner also flew 100 F-51 missions in Korea while Cundy
crashed and drowned in the English Channel.

Lt Chuck Gumm & crew 355th FS. Gummwas the 1st ace of the 354th FG but was killed keeping his disabled Mustang
from crashing into a small English town.

Lt Dick Penrose's 339th FG P-51D. He also flew 115 F-51 missions in the 39th FIS in Korea.

Jack, my understanding was that after Gentile's 51 was picked over the remains were pushed into a pond just off the field. Anyone ever looked for it ?

even though I also own hundreds of original P-51 photos, your collection always yields new material - thank you big time for sharing these treasures - I will follow your example and post some scans in this thread later tonight.

You wouldn't by chance have any photographs of "PUNKIE" P-51C 42-106886, 5Q - O, 8th AF, 339 FG, 504 FS, would you? Flown by 1/LT. Robert Blizzard. Forced landed on or about 11 Jan 1945 due to Fuel starvation. The only one of her I can find is the one below. I'm really wanting to model this aircraft but I need some different views of her. Thanks for any help
