B-29 on Guam and base pictures

Tue May 13, 2014 8:16 am

Hello,

I was at a flea market this weekend and picked up a few pictures that appear to be of an airbase, one has a B 29 in it with the tail code 461528 or 46528.

I was hoping people might be able to help me learn the fate of the plane.

EDITED: It appears that this is Guam, possibly post war.

The Radio station is WXLI (http://www.criticalpast.com/video/65675 ... up-singing)

Also Hoover park was on Guam (another view - http://b-29.org/315BW/16thbg/dubner/dubner41.JPG)

B-29A-35-BN 44-61528, looks like it was Harmon Field, Guam. She was accepted 3/31/1945 and eventually converted to an F-13A. Mann's book shows 'salvaged, 8/5/1948.'

Another shot I found of her:

Thank you so much! It looks as if it is the same picture as mine, just a bit better quality.

I really appreciate you discovering and posting that.
