"Achtung Thunderbolts Kommen" is likely the last radio call heard by many German fighter pilots, before they were blown away by a diving Jug. IMO the P-47 was the best high-altitude fighter of the war, and backed that up by being one of the best - if not the very best - fighter-bombers of the war. With all due respect to P-51 fans, the Jug was a better aircraft for the Korean War and it is unfortunate that it couldn't be made available for that conflict. A truly great aircraft.
