article mentions that Chuck has had more than 2 dozen lawsuits and 20 attorneys over the years and that his present wife had 30 lawsuits before she married Chuck.

All I want to say is that the more I have learned about Chuck Yeager since I read his autobiographies the more I wished I had never learned anymore. I know no one is perfect and CY never intended to build himself up as some kind of superpilot/hero but it is just sad to see him reduced to this state especially since everyweek my local paper highlights local WW2 vets who are always humble and grateful to be alive today to tell thier stories.

Sounds like quite a mess!

I'll always remember how my lucky older brother managed to get his autograph at an airshow in the mid 90s, when he was refusing to sign anything for anybody. My brother was in the right place at the right time and the right Military Officer introduced him to the General (I think Chuck assumed that my brother was the Military Officer's son).

This quote from Good Morning Vietnam kind of reminds me of CY. Just replace Nixon with Yeager...

I don't think it's so much CY as it is his new wife...30+ lawsuits before she ever even met the dude?! This lady just loves litigation, like it's a hobby of hers. Has nothing but $$$$$ signs in her eyes.

Since Victoria is a "actress" I looked her up on IMDB..... Impressive list of appearances... She was in Witness with Harrison Ford. She played a "detective" (no name) which means she was on screen for 30 seconds or less... Thats all.... One bit part and she's an "actress". I'd say she spent more time in court. Maybe she should have been a paralegal...

Settled out of court:

A celebrated pilot who was the first person to break the sound barrier has avoided a courtroom battle in Central California over claims he owed thousands in unpaid legal bills.

The Fresno Bee reports that 91-year-old Chuck Yeager and his 55-year-old wife, Victoria, reached a settlement on Tuesday with a Fresno law firm just as jurors were set to hear opening arguments in the case.

The terms of the settlement weren't revealed. The firm, Wild, Carter & Tipton, accused the Yeagers of skipping out on about $270,000 in bills. The Yeagers countersued for legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty.

Yeager was a World War II pilot. In 1947, he became the first person to break the sound barrier.

He and his wife have been involved in numerous lawsuits
