Any Curtiss SOC Seagull Survivors?

Is anyone aware of any survivors of the Curtiss SOC Seagull line? A friend of mine posted a picture of one landing last night on his Facebook page wondering what it was.

Well, there is at least some parts surviving:



These came mounted on our Grumman Goose project. We've put some efforts into trying to find a good place for them but nobody seems to have any interest. We'd give them away to a good home. We just can't find anybody with a Seagull (or Seamew) project or hopes of having one. They are quite airworthy. We tried donating them to the Pensacola Museum, but we could never get through the receptionist & overhead and down to somebody who could help us.

I know someone who seriously looked into building a replica SOC. It seems the only set of plans is at the Smithsonian and they wouldn't allow copying unless the requester paid for it and had approval of Curtiss Wright which, believe it or not, still exists. Since permission was not forthcoming the project did not get far. There was a second set of plans once held by the Navy but someone requested them for some kind of study and they were never returned. In the course of this I learned that the SOC was famed photographer William Larkins all time favorite aircraft!
