FAS 400 was wrecked....discussion about it in this thread:

viewtopic.php?p=320183

If you believe in the "rebuild" theory, then there were possibly parts of FAS 400 still flying in "Galveston Gal" when it crashed last year.

One of the most discussed topics about the 69 conflict is the case of the C-47 FAS-101. This aircraft was reported landing in El Salvador with only one engine running and sprayed with bullet holes.Apparently none of the crewmembers (3) were hurt.
Is it possible for this type of aircraft to fly from 10.000 ft. for about 50 NM on one engine and the other one out and unable to feather?
Did any of the mercenary pilots talked about seeing this aircraft damaged near Ilopango?

If a C47 was at 10000 feet when it lost an engine, and was unable to feather said engine, it would be in a steady descent ,unable to maintain altitude, even feathered and lightly loaded a Douglas's single engine ceiling was less than 10,000 feet (personal experience), 50 miles seems a bit of a stretch to say the least. Cheers.

Good day!

Tks for the info & data!

A more refined version placed it at about 7,500 ft at the time of the aerial encounter on 15 Jul '69 & some 50 NM out fm Ilopango. Apparently it managed to land someplace with one engine out. We are trying to obtain some other poss photos fm the FAS boneyard c. 1972. Tks again.
