One of these was flying over the city of Halifax on Friday March 21.
I took this photo at YHZ on 21 February 2014.
The closest one has nose # 014 and is C-GCTA.
Next in is nose # 082. Next nose # 072 C-FOTA and last nose # 046.

014 was built by Dornier, Germany in 1979. 16 of them are operated by Discovery Air Defence Services Inc. of Quebec, Canada. The act as aggressor aircraft for the Canadian Air Force and Navy.

I saw them going overhead on Friday in Dartmouth. Too high to tell the type, except they were single vertical tails. I thought F-16s. Are they still there? Where can then be spotted?

Very interesting. I did not know Canada had civilian aggressors until I was leafing through an old International Air Power Review. Ironic the night after these are posted here.

Yep, here's what was used for a short while before Top Aces' Alpha Jets took over...Northern Lights Hawker Hunter, seen at Quebec City in June 2006...

...The NL programme was dormant already at this time. Two disassembled Hunters were also present at Quebec City when I saw and photographed C-GZIC; they were a red-and-grey RAF-marked example and the former CWH F.58, J-4006, still in its Swiss finish. Not sure what became of any of the NL Hunter fleet.

...Well hey, looks like I uploaded a shot of the spare parts Hunters too...J-4006 on the left, the red and grey RAF one on the right...both looked in quite good condition. Certainly J-4006 was pristine when shown at CWH. At one point IIRC they were considering trying to make her taxiable. She wasn't terribly relevant to the collection of course but I was sure sorry to see her go.

Thanks for the Hunter photos.
A couple of them flew into Halifax when I was still working in the Tower about ten years ago.
At least one of them was still in Swiss marks.
No camera that day.
