Some assembly required:

605/601 would be doing very well to make it to 100 hours without requiring overhaul

Here she is taxiing out for what I'm 99.9% sure was her last flight on July 25, 2010 from Tillsonburg back to Niagara South Airport. The prop was due to expire in a day or so.

Isn't the engine required to be overhauled every 100 hours due to no documentation on the type?

No, that is not true. there is definitely all documentation available, though in German. German LBA allowed operation of DB 600 series engines (601 - 605) if original manufacturers (Daimler-Benz) operation and maintenance manuals are followed. They have certain fixed overhaul times, IIRC main overhaul is due after 200 hours. (If all other parameters are within their values) Engine life is expected to be 600 hours, but can be extended if everything meets the given criteria.

Correct spelling, as per Original company literature/brochure/catalogue is:
Bayerische Flugzeugwerke A.G. Not certain when the "W" was dropped, but earlier versions of its aircraft were officially designated with the full BFW-(model) like the
BFW-23 of 1930
