SPADS in SPADES!!!! Nice to see shots of the 'Chad Spads', one of them, buno 126965 (originally an AD-4NA), is now operated as 'The Proud American' as an A-1 with Bill Anders Hertitage Flight Museum in Mt. Vernon, WA.

Mark this is great stuff. Being a HUGE Spad fan I have seen most of these before, but your scans always impress. Is there any chance that you can redo the Stuka ones from a few years ago. I think your photo bucket account was closed and those pictures are no longer available. pop2

Above there are two shots of an AD-4, modex #518. Can the Bu no be sharpened? Appears to be 123837, which would place it 10 numbers from Fighter Factory's rare AD-4.

Ken

PS: Glad to see you back, Eric.

Greetings Adam, thx and yes I'll repost the old Stuka stuff (along with some new Stuka stuff) after I finish reporting the rest of this raider stuff.

Every good flying story that ends with "throwing away the book" has to start with the book itself ...

I have stared at that China Lake 325 for hours before. Even made a model of it, but I never noticed the under wing had NAVY written on it. I can't seem to make the images as large as yours Mark. Thanks again.

USAF A-1E/G, unit unknown. Five of the six outboard stations are visible with three LAU-68 (or equivalent) 2.75" rocket pods and two M47 100lb white phosphorus bombs. Left stub has a SUU-11 7.62mm minigun pod, opposite stub likely has an external fuel tank; 300 gal fuel tank on the centerline. The white rocket nose cones were mostly seen before 1970 and gradually replaced by OD variants, or when stock was low, no cone at all.
