Photos needed - A-1H Skyraider ammunition bays

Fri Mar 07, 2014 9:09 am

Hi again guys

thanks a lot for helping out with my past requests on the Skyraider. I am now looking for good photos of the inside details of the gun bays, Can anyone help? I have plenty of pics of the outboard cannons at the wing folds...but the inboard cannons / ammo bays are proving to be problematic

any assistance greatly appreciated!

I've only seen one photo of an outboard cannon (credited to a Tom A. Morris) and that's on pg. 23 of Mutza's "A-1 Skyraider in Vietnam". If you find some, please share.

H-models are the most rare of the survivors (if photos of warbirds would suffice). Any idea if the outer bays in an A-1E or AD-4N would be close enough?

Ken

thanks ken, I do have the mutza book & have seen the pics. There are also a couple in kinzey's detail & scale book. I was hoping there would be some modern ones from a restoration or service floating around...

yes, I guess A-1E or AD-4N would suffice too - do you know of any pics online?
