Ottawa Citizen confirms long term loan of Typhoon to Canada.

Sat Feb 22, 2014 10:24 am

I'd read a few rumours about this but hadn't seen anything outside of the forums to confirm that it would actually happen. The Ottawa Citizen had a brief article in their February 19th edition that confirmed the loan from the RAF Museum to the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa. It will be a long term loan and should be on display in time for this year's anniversary of D-Day.

I'm grateful to the RAF Museum for allowing this to happen. I don't think I'd have been able to see a Tiffie "in the flesh" otherwise.

I've included a link to the story:

That will be the third time the plane has made the trip across the pond. It came here after (or during) the war and was in the NASM collection for many years. It was transferred to the British, and they in response gifted the Hurricane to NASM.
