That was very Cool!
I saw the plane in pieces about 3 years ago and would not have guessed they would have come so far so quickly.
Hats off to the team at P.O.F.!!!
Keep up the Great work!

Very nice!
Was that the F7F that was in the back of the hanger at Sanders for a few years?

I know an anorak who is going to tell them the gear legs are the wrong color. Guy went off about JC's F7F at Camarillo 3 years ago. I told him to open his wallet & go buy the *correct* paint, he promptly shut up.

How do you interpret people shutting up when you tell them that? If you think it means you have made a good point, you're wrong. Probably he just decided you aren't worth talking to.

You do NOT have to give your money to a guy with 1000x your net worth to have the right to talk about his airplane. Airplane restoring ain't free, but speech is.

You really think the color was chosen based on cost?

ok I'll bite. What color are the gear legs supposed to be? Not GSB?

I'm no Tigercat expert but I'm pretty sure GSB is correct so not sure what the deal was with JC's Tigercat. As for the one pictured in this thread, unless the colors in the photo are "wonky", that is not GSB. At least not the iteration of GSB that would have been found on Tigercats.

The one that was at Sanders was N7195C, the ex- Mike Bogue a/c.

I'm no expert either, especially when it comes to cameras and lighting. But the starboard main in the b/g looks like it's GSB to me, or at least much darker than the front gear, and the yellow scaffolding in the f/g is quite bright and saturated. So maybe it's a lighting/exposure deal that's making the fore leg look much lighter than it is. The camera info (exposure etc.) is listed on the flickr page with the image as well.

Whatever the case it looks like meticulous work, always interesting to see what's going on behind the scenes at Chino and Fighter Rebuilders.

I've had dark blues show up as powder blue when I reviewed my pics, thanks to wonky lighting and the camera sensor going "WTF?!". That 'Cat definitely has GSB legs fore and aft, the nose gear leg is in bright light while the rest of the plane is in the hangar... the compensation to get details to pop out of the shadows made the stuff in the foreground shift.

Looks like this is gonna be a gorgeous bird when done!

I did not seen any other aircraft at Fighter Rebuilders. I was just there touring PoF and shot the photo through the door at FR.
