This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I think it is safe to say that the majority of the owners would love to see there aircraft in the sky more but the real issue is the ever escalating cost of maintanence and and operation, ever for those with deep pockets.
The ride programs have become a necessity to allow for any kind of semi regular operations, but even that is not perfect and come with a whole list of other requirements and expenses.
Lets just be thankfull that there were few visionaries back in the 60's and 70's that saved the few available from the smelter. ( remember that as recently as the late 80's some were scrapped)
I do hope the Pond situation gets resolved - I wonder what he would have thought about his collection sitting and gathering dust as it is.

When the collection was at Flying Cloud every thing except the T-28 flew. When we had our Memorial Day shows he tried to fly everything at least once. I was luckey enough to have flown in Miss Angela many times.

Yes - sorry - O.C. meaning Orange County - and to be fair I assume they really meant - "no where further than a days flight" from the museum. Which of course is totally fair, they are paying the bills (insurance etc).
Good to know that the Palm Springs planes will be flying again - I thought they were just "painted planes"
