that was a great link! Can you imagine those aircraft showing up at airshows today?
Do you know if there is a published list of all the aircraft that arrived at Freeman Field for evaluation? then what happen to the aircraft? I know there is a team of historians trying to find dome of the aircraft buried in and around the old airport property? Did any of the AXIS aircraft get preserved?
Living in IL. I remember seeing pictures of AXIS and ALLIED aircraft stored at Orchard Army Airfield (ORD a.k.a. O'Hare)in the late '40's. I think these were put aside for possible preservation, but most of the planes were broken up for scrap. It is also rumored that some of the aircraft after scrapping were dumped into Lake Michigan to establish a break wall for Chicago beaches.

Thanks for the links. I had no Idea there were so many aircraft at Freeman for evaluation.
PM me, I am also in the Chi area. Love to have you out to see our plane and get involved with the searches.
