There was rumors swirling around awhile back that they and been scrapped! Don't know if there is any truth to the rumors or not.

While we're on the subject of Mexico City warbirds...whatever became of the Mosquito that was down there and eventually crumbled away.
Were any parts saved...it might be nice to know since you can build a new Mossie with a few old metal bits.

Yes, although it's been a while:

Note in the 1979 photos the cowlings had been replaced with corrugated metal, although in the October 1974 Air Classics article they were intact.

A touch of topic but still "south of the border".....

I was looking around last night (Wiki) and seen there is (was) a museum in Havana, Cuba that has an A-26 and a P-51. The museum was closed in 2010 for some reason and the aircraft moved to a nearby air force base. There was no other info besides that. I have not read anything on here about that museum nor it's contents.

There was a Sea Fury on display in Cuba also. It might have been in a plaza though as opposed to a museum.

Getting on the topic of just *Warbirds South of the Border* I found this B-25 in Venezuela at the Jacinto Lara International Airport in Barquisimeto

Looks like it's kept company by an F-86D and an F-5.

Seen the below on Aerovintage. Seems a few of B-25's found their way into the Caribbean and Mexico.

Unknown B-25 crash at Kingston Jamaica?

Postby Coert Munk » Mon Jan 21, 2013 6:53 am

Hi all,

Our B-25 PH-XXV (44-29507, ex N320SQ etc) landed in August 1964 at Kingston Jamaica with a problem in the exhaust manifold. In the story that was written on that flight, the following is indicated: "A B-25 two months before us had similar trouble but was not so lucky. It caught fire and had to land at Kingston, a total loss". That must have been somewhere in May-June-July 1964.
Question is very simple? What's the ID of this crashed B-25? The NTSB database reports several B-25 mishaps in the sixties, but not at Kingston Jamaica.

All the best,

Coert
