This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Mark, my good friend, if you "retire and ride off into the sunset", I shall personally come to California and beat you viciously about the head and shoulders with a heavy, metallic, antique airplane part.
Okay, not really, but I'll at least think about it!
Seriously, dude, thanks for the photos, and by all means, keep 'em coming!!!

Hey now boys!

I'm not ready to be put out to pasture just yet, I've still got some fun stuff to throw at ya's. Wasn't looking for "atta boys" but I do appreciate the kind words as usual. Just noticed the 6K mark today and thought I'd pull out a nice one. Isn't it time we had a bent wing birdcage flying? Come on now!

Yeah, what he said!
And if you keep 'em coming, can we see some Lockheed Lodestar stuff? Pleeeease?? I've been flying copilot on the Houston CAF Lodestar and have become a a C-60 Lodestar junkie, but don't get too see many pics of them in military service... need more!
Thanks for posting these pics, seriously.

Mark:
Good day!
Tks for postings all those nice pictures!! It just happened that the pic #6000 was another of your nice F4U Shots!
p.s The data/info provided in them is very valuable for research project purposes. The Navy seems to keep pretty good records of their aircraft & Sq personnel.
Big Tks
