Good day!

Found this Constellation somewhere in Bolivia. Reg N 2520B or 2521B X Braniff Airlines. for now. The story goes that it used to fly out of Miami for Lloyd Airlines with a bit of contraband to S.of the border. It was at one time intercepted by Bolivian P-51s c. 1960s and forced to land in a nearby airport. Now it's on display at a park poss Sta Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. Photo via aviacionboliviana.net.

Since you posted #3, here's #4 (44-74978):

The Registry shows this one as destroyed in a hangar fire in 1988, but the remains are stored with Cal Pacific Airmotive in Salinas. Has anything been done with it since? Sounds like another candidate for a dataplate restoration.

(FYI) P-51 #1 N6170U had an accident near Managua while on the ferry flight returning to the US. c. 1964. Another Unid P-51 (CRGN) had an accident in CR & I do not know the details of others. There could be one more fuselage back. I will look for other CR P-51 pics in mi files.

B-25 Folks:

Another interesting S. of the border B-25 project is in N. Argentina B-25 AAF 44-31173. Nick "Huaira Bajo" = Low Wind!

There were several samples in & around the country c. 1950s-1960s. This is the only survivor that eventually will take to the skies in a couple of years from now. Are there any warbirds in Panama?

I'm going next week, and might have a little time to snoop around if there's something convenient, like a gate guard at the Panama City airport.

I know there's an outfit that does aerial sightseeing in a T-34, but otherwise ... ?

Good day!

I believe there used to be an F-86 at Tocumen airport as a gate guard at one time. c. 1980s. If you can find the T-34s rides plz take some pics for the Wix audience. Some Pillans (SAN) may be used for some type of sightseeing also.

p.s Your best shots with a good poc is to visit the back alleys of the Tocumen airport backyards boneyards. Old 727s, 737s, DC-3s & C-46s were hanging in there c. 1980s. Lots of confiscated aircraft also. (DC-3s)/Crops Dusters. Ck the T-34 ride aircraft yourself & make sure that everything is in order!

Thanks Zorro. I will not be riding in the T-34, as I do not have the time to check them out properly, and it is not a confidence builder that their website account has been suspended. There are lots of pics and vids of their plane online.

Google is not turning up anything promising so far, but I'll let you know if I spot anything. There does seem to be a mini boneyard of old airliners on the cargo side of the field, but I don't know if I can get out there.

At one time, there was a B-29 crash located in the harbor of Colon. When I was there in the early 80's, old timers talked about diving on the skeleton in the 60's.

2. About how deep is this aircraft located in the water since the locals did dome diving?

3. Where in the Port of Colon area West or East of the city is this aircraft located?

4. How far fm the coast??

5. Do you have pictures of the apprx area??
