No details on reverse of photo, possibly shows the Berrimah crash site from 19th Feb 42

I concur..too skinny for a Val and no tailhook. Elevators and tailwheel are also wrong for a Val, but right for a Spit.

Crash site is West of Darwin,,,,pilot survived, I'm informed. :spit
