From the Arrufat family:

All, thank you for you thoughts, prayers & charity over the past couple days. Frank's memorial service will be held in El Paso at Trinity 1st United Methodist at 9:30am on Tuesday. The burial will be at 11:00am at Ft Bliss Cemetery. We welcome everyone over to our house afterwards for food, drinks, and remembrance (10229 Woodway Dr, El Paso, TX 79925).

In lieu of flowers, food and gifts, please consider making a donation in honor of Frank Arrufat to one of his favorite places, and last place of employment... The Santa Teresa War Birds Museum. (War Eagles Air Museum, 8012 Airport Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008).

Please pass this along to anyone you feel appropriate. We are trying to make sure everyone is up to speed, but we are realizing just how many people Frank touched! Thanks in advance.

Kathy, Paul & Matt

Rob:

I'm sad to hear such a bad news of a great person & pilot through the years! Buno 92489 x FAS 209 has his name & legacy all over! My most sincere condolences to his wife & fam during these diff times! Will send the donation to the requested place.

Frank was kind enough to lend us some FAS FG-1Ds pictures & all kinds of data about his trip to El Salvador c. 1974 when he went there to pick up & pack FAS 209! What an adventure that was!!

Blue Skies Frank!! Job well done in the Navy & along the way!!

...you simply can't ask for a much better aircraft restoration after being abandoned at Ilopango, El Salvador since c. 1960s. Frank & John Lane took care of it... the former FAS 209!! The adventure itself is worth to be known & the perseverance of Frank at any cost through the yrs!! Oshkosh, WI c Aug-.2010 Via Wix.

p.s restored with the precision & luv of a former Navy Lt & TWA pilot!! Blue skies Frank!
