Hey everyone,
I have this P-40 data plate that I got not to long ago. Looking to get any information about it. I was told it came off a fuselage in Russia back in the 90's.

Thanks for any help.

Its a parts plate that are on flaps(your piece)eilerons, elevators, rudder etc.The fuselage part plate is located on the right hand rear vision panel up forward. Your number looks to be from bird 457.Its from an export early P-40.

Hi Gents

Eric your plate is from a Tomahawk IIb serial number AK297 (as long as I'm reading this correctly as 457). Aircraft was built (well completed) on the 9th Dec 1940. Aircraft was supplied direct to Russia (I can find no information of it having served with any UK based unit before hand). I have no service history for it in Russian service, however a number of aircraft supplied at the same time and shipment went to 147IAP. Its is possible (only possible) that the aircraft served with that Unit.

Buz,
Thanks for the great info. I want to make a display with this data plate and use any info I get for it.
