live dud ww2 4000 pound bomb dug up in germany

still live dud bombs from ww2 have been excavated in Europe many times over the years, & most construction companies make it an sop rule & policy before starting new building construction to search for them. but, seldom do they find a live 4000 pounder!! yikes!! more than 20 thousand people were evacuated from the west german city of Dortmund. the big boomer was found after experts analyzed old aerial photos while searching for unexploded ordinance dropped by the allies over Germany's industrial Ruhr region. the bomb has to be british, u.s. bombers didn't have the capacity to handle a bomb that size, nor do I think they fielded anything that big in Europe. i'd bet it was dropped by an avro Lancaster. hope it's safely disarmed for display!
