Sounded like a B-25 passed overhead a few minutes ago. He was low and moving at a good clip. As soon as I heard the preceeding rumble I started for the door, but by the time I was there...he wasn't! Lost him in the trees! :?

Four AT-6/SNJ aircraft (with a fifth airplane) flew over at 1841Z, flying to the north about five miles north of Lansing Municipal Airport (IGQ), Illinois.
I love that AT-6 sound.

Possibly a US Navy anniversary tribute paint scheme?

Our CONA bird still wears it's anniversary paint job. Costs to much to repaint it back to "stock".

NASA's white U2 (ER-2?) was observed droning over the town like it was doing circuits & bumps, but then pulled the stick back & cranked up the noise as it did the usual departure. Normally they just take off & immediatley climb like a mofo, but for some reason this one waited a while.

"Dusty" is based at Hondo? Did not know that, saw him fly last weekend at WOH. Totally unrelated, but my Grandfather was the the Mayor of Hondo for many years. It really bothered him that the City Council would not realize what an asset they had in the Airport and work to capitalize on it.

It's fall here in the Pacific NW....which means increasing overcast and fog. That means I don't expect to see an aircraft fly until spring. :)
